Energy & Sustainability Engineering Specialist

Job Description: The UVA Office for Sustainability is seeking an Energy and Sustainability Engineering Specialist to contribute to developing solutions to meet university-wide goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, and overall environmental stewardship. The incumbent focuses on supporting innovative projects that incorporate best practices in sustainability and conservation in the use of energy, water, and other resources through retro-commissioning, energy audits and technical analyses. The incumbent supports the goals of providing consistent, cost-effective, and efficient use of energy and other natural resources by applying expertise and knowledge of building systems to inspect, evaluate, analyze, and solve complex building mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing deficiencies. Morven Food Lab Equity & Environment Fellowship

The Food Lab at Morven Farms is seeking two students for their Equity and Environmental Fellowship. The Food Lab at Morven Farms will be launched in October of this year, as a multi-purpose kitchen and classroom. The Food Lab does more than just provide a space to cook and learn, but also serves as a symbolic AND physical nexus for food sustainability efforts at the University and beyond. Morven has established this participatory, community-based research project in concert with the City Schoolyard Garden and the Cville Food Justice Network, two Charlottesville based organizations.
