Take Action

Take Action

We invite all members of the UVA Community to get involved!

To meet our ten bold sustainability goals, we work collaboratively across disciplines and departments in three ways: we ENGAGE our community in sustainability action and equity, STEWARD our resources on Grounds and beyond, and DISCOVER solutions to local and global challenges through research and curriculum.

Our ENGAGE goal aims to ensure sustainability awareness, literacy and action across Grounds and beyond through innovative communications, programs, inclusive partnerships, peer-to-peer outreach and more!

We like to collaborate with all members of our UVA community to advance sustainable, equitable and healthy places for all. Click on the relevant link below to join us!

From purchasing products for an event to working in an office environment to directly teaching sustainability in a course, there are plenty of things faculty and staff can do to get involved. Check out how we can work together.

Researchers and Lab Managers

Sustainable Labs posing

Research labs at UVA make up 10% of the University’s building footprint, but are responsible for 33% of its energy use. The good news is that UVA has an internationally recognized program, Sustainable Labs, that can work collaboratively with faculty, researchers, and lab managers to optimize safety and efficiency in labs. Reach out to our labs team.
