Office for Sustainability
Our Mission
Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, empowering and connecting the UVA community to advance sustainability opportunities through operations, education, research, and engagement.
Our Vision
We envision a future in which the University of Virginia is at the forefront of environmental stewardship and social responsibility, creating sustainable and resilient solutions at UVA and beyond.
Since 2013 UVA's Office for Sustainability has supported university-wide collaborative governance, leadership and implementation of sustainability across Grounds. By partnering with students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community, we seek to infuse and develop a culture of environmental, economic and social stewardship in alignment with the educational, research, health care and public service mission of the University. We focus on pan-University strategic planning; program and project implementation across impact areas; as well as engagement and communication.
