Bio

Teri (she/her) leads the communications efforts to help achieve UVA's Sustainability Plan and promote an equitable, healthy, and sustainable Grounds and beyond. She works collaboratively with students, staff, faculty and the broader community to convey and amplify the wide-range of sustainability work being done. Teri taught middle school before founding Better World Betty, a nonprofit dedicated to eco-conscious living, and starting the first corporate sustainability competition in Central Virginia. Before joining the Office for Sustainability, she helped launch and grow the nonprofit Community Climate Collaborative (C3). Teri loves being anywhere in Nature, dancing, and board games with family. She currently serves on the Albemarle County Solid Waste Alternatives Advisory Committee.
