Our Team

Andrea Trimble (she/her) is the Sustainability Director at the University of Virginia and has been a leader in sustainability in higher education since 2006.

Jesse is responsible for the University’s electric demand response and sustainable building programs. He leads the Building Efficiency Program and a team of energy engineers who identify and implement energy efficiency and retro-commissioning projects across Grounds.

Elizabeth, or “Libby,” (she/her) works to gather and process food, energy and other procurement data to evaluate University-level environmental footprints including carbon and nitrogen.

Erick is responsible for projects in efficient and specialty lighting retrofits, retro-commissioning, LEED measurement and verification, and water efficiency. Erick has LEED GA and EBCP (Existing Building Commissioning Professional) certifications.

Ethan enjoys collaborative approaches to solving sustainability challenges. He oversees the implementation of the UVA Green Building Standards as a framework for promoting healthy, comfortable, and efficient buildings across Grounds.

Fiona (she/her) is part of the Sustainable Labs team, collaborating with stakeholders all over Grounds to support laboratories at UVA in reducing their environmental impact.

John joined UVA in October 2010 after holding previous roles in the areas of facilities project management, physical plant operations, and mechanical and building automation systems contracting with various Virginia-based firms.

Samantha (she/her) works across UVA teams, programs and departments to strategically drive energy efficiency and sustainability on Grounds through analysis and program development.

Darren supports the College of Arts and Sciences & School of Engineering and Applied Sciences to reduce the environmental footprint of those buildings through energy efficiency initiatives and targeted occupant engagement. Prior to joining UVA, Darren worked for the U.S.

Sophia (she/her) is a member of the energy engineering team, where she focuses on identifying and implementing energy conservation measures across UVA’s existing building portfolio, with a particular emphasis on laboratory facilities.

Keith is part of the energy engineering team and helps identify and implement energy efficiency and retro-commissioning projects across Grounds. He also works with various stakeholders on Grounds to improve the built environment in order to increase health and wellness for the UVA community.

Chad (he/him) coordinates many waste programs on Grounds such as Greens Games, Zero Waste Ambassadors, and Hoos Reuse. He supports the Green Athletics and Waste Minimization student employee teams, and assists with broad student engagement and zero waste events.

Lela (she/her) leads student engagement efforts on Grounds by supporting the Sustainability Student Employee Program, organizing events, and collaborating with student-facing

Erika (she/her) works with UVA’s 12 Schools, major operating units and UVA Health to develop their sustainability visions and strategic plans in alignment with the University’s 2020-2030 Sustainability Plan and the 2030 Great and Good University Plan.

Anna (she/her) supports the ongoing optimization of waste streams across UVA, collaborating with stakeholders to implement waste minimization, diversion, and disposal solutions in academic, laboratory, and clinical environments.

Sydney (she/her) works across departments as part of the Green Labs team, developing professional relationships with research personnel.

Elizabeth (she/her) is a Zero Waste Fellow in the Office for Sustainability, focused on supporting waste-reduction programs on Grounds and working closely with event planners to help organize and promote Zero Waste Events.

Jessa (she/her) is a Sustainable Healthcare Fellow supporting initiatives that advance environmental stewardship across Health System operations.

Shannon (she/her) is an Outreach & Engagement Manager for the UVA Office for Sustainability.

Dana (she/her) is an Outreach & Engagement Manager focused on waste reduction. She helps guide many Zero Waste programs and initiatives in addition to maintaining Waste Infrastructure Standards for the University.

Teri (she/her) leads the communications efforts to help achieve UVA's Sustainability goals and promote a healthy, sustainable Grounds and beyond that everyone can enjoy.
